Hong Kong International Poster Triennial 2014: Call for entries

Design is the focus of one of the major collections of the Hong Kong Heritage Museum, and we are dedicated to promoting this discipline through our collection, research and programming activities. The Hong Kong International Poster Triennial is a major event that has been organised by the museum and jointly presented with the Hong Kong Designers Association since 2001 to document the development of international poster design, to celebrate achievements in this field and to bring outstanding design works to the attention of the public. The triennial represents part of the museumˇs efforts to establish Hong Kong as a world city in the arena of collecting and promoting poster design, to assemble a distinctive international poster collection and to foster graphic design education and cultural exchanges with other countries and regions. It is divided into three events that are held in quick succession to one another: Competition, Exhibition and Symposium.

ˉVisionˇ has been chosen as the overall theme of this yearˇs triennial, while ˉBlind Spotˇ has been set as a further thematic category, and the museum is thus hoping to inspire designers to reinterpret the definition and importance of poster design and to explore different perspectives that have, as yet, been left undiscovered.

Prominent international designers Mr He Jianping (Germany), Ms Luba Lukova (USA), Mr Masayoshi Kodaira (Japan), Mr Ralph Schraivogel (Switzerland) and Mr John Warwicker (UK) make up the judging panel for this yearˇs triennial, and the selected entries will be presented in an exhibition that will open in November 2014.

Deadline for entries:
5 pm, 17 November 2013
