International Museum Day 2013, Hong Kong
ˉMuseums (Memory + Creativity) = Social Changeˇ is the theme of IMD 2013, and to complement this yearˇs event, the Hong Kong Heritage Museum presented a variety of exhibitions and entertaining programmes for all ages to enjoy on 18-19 May 2013 to provide visitors with a fun-filled and memorable experience of our museum over this special weekend.


Datoufo  The Rejoicing Heart!

A Hong Kong master of the paper crafts demonstrates the traditional skills involved in making big-head buddhas.

Visitors have a lot of fun playing the role of Datoufo themselves.


Reusing Junk Wood: Puppet DIY Workshop

Wong Tin-yan demonstrates the principles of levers to the family participants and then encourages them to make use of recycled wood and cardboard to handcraft delightful toys.

Wong Tin-yan, one of the artists participating in the thematic exhibition, share his creative process with children as they transform recycled wood into artistic animal sculptures.
