Little Eyes on the Big, Big World
In association with the exhibition "City Flâneur: Social Documentary Photography"

The big, big world is changing everyday. And right before your little eyes. When it comes to capturing beautiful and exciting moments from the kaleidoscope of life, the camera is your best and most trusted friend. Giving you some new ideas about the art of photography, our speaker uses exhibits on display in the museum to share with our little eyes his philosophy of "life in photographic art, photographic art in life". Don't forget to pick up a few camera tips from the expert for snapping portraits of the world around you.

Paper Lantern DIY Workshop

Eating moon-cakes and guessing riddles are fun things to do during the Mid-Autumn Festival. But the celebration of the fullest moon of the year cannot be complete without the traditional decoration of a glittering lantern. Join this workshop where lantern-making masters demonstrate the skills and techniques of this ancient craft and guide your artistic DIY fingers to make your very own paper lantern.

"A Salute to the Masters" Art Appreciation Class: Cantonese Opera
In association with the exhibition "Splendour of Cantonese Opera: Masters Tong Tik Sang and Yam Kim Fai"

How much do you know about the art of Cantonese opera? Do the names Tong Tik-sang and Yam Kim Fai ring a bell? Find out more in this art appreciation class that takes the libretti of master playwright Tong and stage photos of legendary opera star Yam as a starting point: for a lively tour of the opera treasures on display in the exhibition "The Splendour of Cantonese Opera", when our instructor will open your eyes to the artistry of these two opera greats. The tour is followed by a visit to our dressing room and an insight into the art of stage make-up and costumes, before the class concludes with the appreciation of a live Cantonese opera performance in the museum's theatre.
