Beautiful pottery figures, animals and painted motifs on the roof of historic houses always get our attention during our local heritage tours. These outstanding artworks are the most eye-catching decorations of the house, besides, they can tell more stories to us: Roof decorations not only reflect the social status of the occupants, they also express the good wishes of the clan to their descendents.


This "Roof Story" exhibition uses pictures, objects and models to illustrate the forms as well as implications of the roofs of the traditional vernacular houses in Hong Kong. Creative artworks of students are also displayed in the exhibition.
