Crafting Voice for Comics: Workshop on Animation Dubbing
Dubbing brings life to animated characters, transforming vivid stories from page to screen. To complement the exhibition, the museum has organised an animation dubbing workshop with professional voice talent giving live coaching on the fundamentals of voice acting, allowing the participants to experience first-hand the magic behind bringing stories to life in animated movies.

3. Special Film Screening on Father's Day
Ngau Chai is Coming to Town (2025) Animated short film screening
Ngau Chai is Coming to Town is Hong Kong’s first animated short film featuring the comic character “My Boy (Ngau Chai)”. The story follows My Boy as he travels through time from the 1980s to the present on a quest to recover a packet of egg waffles. Along the way, he comes across a number of pop culture icons from Hong Kong and witnesses the city’s remarkable development. The museum is excited to present this seven-minute animation on Father’s Day to share with the audience the father-son affection embedded in the comic book My Boy.

My Life as McDull is a quintessential Hong Kong story, following the adorable adventures of McDull, a locally born and bred youngster. The film skilfully blends real-life local scenery with cutting-edge computer graphic animation, creating a groundbreaking cinematic experience that captures the authentic spirit of the city.

Master Q 2001 (2001) Film screening
Master Q 2001 was Hong Kong’s first film to combine 3D computer graphic animation with live action performances. The script was based on the two classic characters, Old Master Q and Big Potato, using computer graphic techniques to bring them to life on screen in their comic styles. The interaction between the author and the comic characters was not only humorous but also a tribute, marking a new milestone for Hong Kong’s comic film industry.

Silly Wong Growing Rich (1960) Film screening and post-screening sharing
Adapted from Woo Lung Wong’s comics series, Silly Wong Growing Rich is a classic comedy featuring celebrated comedians Leung Sing-po, Tam Lan Hing and Tang Kei Chan. In a bold caricature style, the film delivers a satirical portrayal of urban social climbers and petty bourgeoisie, exposing the comical hypocrisy of everyday opportunists.
