3 What are the Museum's opening hours?

Mon, Wed – Fri: 10am – 6pm

Sat, Sun & public holidays: 10am – 7pm

Christmas Eve & Chinese New Year's Eve: 10am – 5pm

Closed on Tue (except public holidays) and the first two days of the Chinese New Year

Box Office will be closed 30 minutes before the Museum closes.
4 How much is the admission fee? Free admission to all our permanent exhibitions. There might be admission fee for some special exhibitions, please click here for details. 
5 What are the criteria for waiving the admission fee for group visit? For application for the waiver of admission charges of the special exhibitions, please click here for details. For enquiries, please contact our staff on 2180 8219 during opening hours.
6 Can I take photos inside the exhibition galleries? Photo-taking is generally allowed in the exhibition galleries. Please follow the shooting rules of each exhibition gallery. To maintain pleasant visiting experience, flash-light/ lighting apparatus, tripods or selfie stick are not allowed within the exhibitiion galleries.
7 Can I access to Museum's reference materials? You can make an appointment by telephone (2180 8185) before visiting the Resource Centre on 4/F to access books, periodicals and audio-visual work on Hong Kong's local history, arts and culture. You can also access data of the museum's collection with computers in the Centre.
8 Are there any activities in the Museum for me? We regularly organise different activities for the public. For details, please refer to the Museum's quarterly Newsletter or click here to browse our website. 
9 How can I be the Museum's docent? We will announce on our website and Museum's Quarterly Newsletter when a new recruitment programme is to be launched.
10 How can I get the latest Museum news? You can get the latest news from the Museum's Quarterly Newsletter or website.
11 Can I park my bicycle in the Museum? There are 10 bicycle parking spaces for museum visitors. Please bring your own bicycle lock.
12 Can I park my car at the Museum? How much does it charge? We have a fee-charging public car park. For charges, please click here for more information.  
13 Can I donate artifact(s) / artwork(s) to the Hong Kong Heritage Museum?

If you would like to make a donation of artifact(s) / artwork(s) to our Museum, you could first let us have the basic information such as your name, contact information, description of the proposed donation and images of objects etc. via the following ways:

Once we have received the information of the proposed donation, we will table the proposal in our regular Programme Committee Meeting and discuss it base on criteria such as the Museum's Collection Policy, the proposed donation's historical or artistic significance and research value and the object(s)' physical condition, etc. according to our established mechanism. Our staff member will also inform the inquirer of the result.
