Chinese Ink Painting Workshop: The Gentlemen in the Four Seasons
Special Programme for "The Four Seasons" Exhibition

Plum blossoms, orchids, chrysanthemums and bamboo are regarded as "The Four Gentlemen" in the world of botany and were treasured by Chinese literati painters since ancient times. In addition to symbolising virtue and noble character, they represent the four seasons of the year. The instructor will demonstrate how to paint the "Four Gentlemen", and will teach the participants the mogu (boneless) method of Chinese ink painting and colouring techniques, to depict various arrangements of two of the "Four Gentlemen".
