Happy Moon Festival: Hexagonal Paper Lantern-making Workshop 

Come and make your own unique paper lantern this Mid-autumn festival! On this special occasion, the Museum has invited Mr Hui Ka-hung, a famous local paper-crafting master, to introduce the art of making bamboo-structured lanterns. The children will learn how to create handmade hexagonal lanterns using traditional paper-crafting techniques – binding, paper-mounting, painting and assembling. Celebrate this festive season with your family and appreciate the beauty of paper-crafting art.

Time Session 1: 10:00 am – 1:00 pm (MuseKids Only)
Session 2: 2:30 pm – 5:30 pm

Target Children aged 10 – 12 (an accompanying parent is required)

Bird-and-Flower Painting – An Initial Experience with Ink Painting

The instructor will teach the participants how to use basic brushstrokes with ink and colours to depict vivid birds and pretty flowers in simple compositions. Let's give it a whirl!

Target Children aged 6 – 12 (an accompanying parent is required)
Enrolment A maximum of 20 participants (10 pairs of child and adult) for each session. Enrolment starts on 13 September 2022 at 10 am and ends on 23 September 2022 at 3:00 pm. To register, please complete the application form for Education and Extension Programmes (download the form). In case of over-application, an open lot will be conducted. Successful applicants will be notified by phone.

*Note MuseKids who have never participated in a MuseKids programme will be given priority when they sign up for the first workshop session. If the number of first-time MuseKids participants exceeds the quota, an open lot draw will be conducted.
