29 June 2017 - 15 October 2017
Jointly presented by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department and The Palace Museum
Jointly organised by the Hong Kong Museum of Art and The Palace Museum
Solely sponsored by The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust
Hall of Mental Cultivation (Yangxin Dian) was the living place of the Qing emperors and the political centre of the Qing dynasty. It is one of the mostly visited places in The Palace Museum, and it houses the most well-known and invaluable artefacts relating to the emperors Kangxi, Yongzheng and Qianlong, etc.
As the Hall is closed for large-scale renovation, artefacts previously housed in the Hall will be selected for touring exhibition. The exhibition features over 200 representative exhibits of the Hall to show its political, historical and cultural importance in the history of the Qing dynasty.
Family Workshops
Two family workshops will be held in October 2017, to encourage the participants to explore the cultural aspects of the Hall in an interactive way through games, stories and animations. The workshops will be conducted in Cantonese. Admission is free. Children aged 6 – 12 are welcome. For application, please click here (first come, first served).
