Architects of Dreams
Film constitutes an important industry in Hong Kong popular culture. The world of filmmaking is often regarded as "the factory of dreams"; while the practitioners of film arts and costume design are the "architects of dreams".
As invited by the Hong Kong Heritage Museum, the Hong Kong Film Arts Association conducted oral history interviews with 60 local film arts and costume practitioners between 2021 and 2022 to document their personal experiences, and stories behind the scenes, and the development of the practice on the whole (in Chinese version only). The interviewees include art directors, costume directors, props masters, set constructors, makeup artists, hair stylists and special effects makeup artists etc.
