Our Beloved 'Happy Fruit' Lydia Sum
Thematic Gallery (6),
Hong Kong Heritage Museum
22 July 2009 - 22 February 2010

She enjoyed four decades of a brilliant career, and throughout it all, from up-and-coming actress to popular TV host, she never failed to bring happiness to Hong Kong audiences of all ages. Affectionately known as "Fei Fei" or "Sister Fei", Lydia Sum was Hong Kong's beloved "Happy Fruit".

Thanks to the generous donation of memorabilia by the Sum family, the museum has organised this exhibition to display Lydia's many changing faces as captured through the lens of the media, while also exploring the broader historical and cultural context of Hong Kong. Stage costumes, prizes and awards bestowed by media bodies and organisations, photos and personal belongings are on display, while visitors are invited to participate in a number of interactive games. A retrospective of Lydia Sum, the exhibition revisits her memorable showbiz career and her iconic screen images, which are forever etched in our collective memories.
