Speaking from the perspective of the creative director and screenwriter, renowned film veteran and academic Shu Kei sheds new light on the ingenuity of computer graphics created by the Pixar team of technical artists and offers an artist's insight into the studio’s critical and commercial successes.

Playing around in the vast and wonderful world of computer graphics since Toy Story (1995), Pixar Animation Studios continues to conjure life out of dots and pixels, producing one revolutionary breakthrough after another of animation ingenuity.

Is 3D animation taking over the world? The growth and development of this creative medium is fascinating, to say the least. The symposium "Animated Imaginary: Global Pioneers of Contemporary Art Animation: USA, Europe and Asia" invites a panel of scholars and experts in creative media from Europe, the US and Asia to ponder the global phenomenon from their own local perspective and to talk about their experiences and work in the field.
