Siu Po-po Pokes Fun at the King of Blunders (1960)
Cast: Leung Sing Por, Fung Bo Bo, Fung Wong Nui, Lee Hong Kum, Cheng Kwan Min

Leung depicts the King of Blunders, the titular character of Lui Yu-tin’s comic, with remarkable resemblance. This is the third instalment of the King of Blunders film series from 1960. After playing opposite Law Yim Hing in the first two movies, he now faces talented child actress Fung Bo Bo as his archnemesis. Fung has always been adept at delivering poignant performances, and her portrayal of a bright, adorable, and slightly mischievous country kid in this film naturally delighted audiences. She repeatedly pranks the King of Blunders to the point where he does not know whether to laugh or cry, leaving him no choice but to concede defeat and end all conflicts on amicable terms.

The Lion’s Roar (1959)
Cast: Leung Sing Por, Yam Kim Fai, Pak Suet Sin, Poon Yat On, Tam Sin Hung

Originally a famous Ming dynasty legend, Tong Tik-sang initially adapted The Lion’s Roar into a Cantonese opera in 1958. A year later, Tao Yuen adapted it into film. Yam Kim Fai stars as Chan Kwai-sheung, a minister of rites who marries Lau Yuet-ngor (Pak Suet Sin), a girl who hails from a noble family. When Kwai-sheung’s friend So Tung-por (Leung Sing Por) takes Kwai-sheung to a brothel, Ngor’s jealous explodes. And when Kwai-sheung falls for Por’s cousin (Tam Sin Hung), Ngor turns to the courts to stop him from taking a concubine.
