Established in the 1930s by Norwegian priest Dr. Karl Ludvig Reichelt and Danish architect Johannes Prip-Möller, the Tao Fong Shan Christian Centre exemplifies the contextualisation of Christianity within a foreign cultural landscape. Originally designed to welcome Chinese Buddhists, the Centre features an octagonal, two-storey pagoda and a hexagonal pavilion, both with Chinese tiled roofs, providing tangible examples of the integration of Christian faith into local culture. Visitors can also enjoy stunning views of Sha Tin from the Centre, making it a unique destination where diverse cultures converge harmoniously.
